Counseling

Support for life's challenges — and the experiences underneath them.

Our counselors offer a place to make sense of what you're carrying: the experiences that shaped you, the patterns that keep repeating, and the relationships that matter most. The work is faith-informed and trauma-informed, with faith integrated at whatever depth you want in the room.

Chris Panepinto and Lincoln Baker are Licensed Associate Counselors practicing under the clinical supervision of Perry Emerick, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

Individuals

Depression, anxiety, grief, and the stuck places that don't respond to trying harder. Individual counseling looks at both the symptoms you're living with now and the experiences underneath them — the root causes shaping your identity and relationships — because lasting change usually starts below the surface.

Anxiety & OCD

OCD is not a quirk — it's a relentless loop of intrusive thoughts and the rituals used to quiet them. For people of faith it often turns into scrupulosity: constant confession, reassurance-seeking, and a faith that feels like a battleground instead of a refuge. Chris is trained in treating OCD, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the evidence-based approach that loosens the loop's grip — facing feared thoughts without the compulsions, and reclaiming the mental space OCD has taken.

Chris Panepinto is trained in ERP for those with OCD.

Trauma & EMDR

Every counselor on our team is trained in EMDR therapy for the effects of painful experiences and traumas that drive anxiety, shame, and reactions bigger than the moment calls for. More about EMDR

Couples

When the same argument keeps happening in different clothes, the issue is rarely the argument. Couples work here uses the Gottman Assessment to map where your relationship is strong and where it's strained, then builds from what's actually there — communication, repair after conflict, and rebuilding trust, including after betrayal.

Men: pornography and sexual addiction

If willpower were going to fix this, it would have by now. Our counselors work with men who are tired of the cycle — the acting out, the shame, the hiding, the starting over. The work goes underneath the behavior to the pain and patterns driving it, toward freedom that lasts rather than another round of trying harder. Support is available for wives and couples as well.

Ministry leaders

Pastors and ministry staff carry everyone else's pain, usually with nowhere to set their own down. Our practice is led by a former pastor, so we understand the weight of ministry from the inside — the loneliness, the expectations, the failures that can't be shared from the pulpit. This is a confidential place to be a person, not a position. For deeper work, see counseling intensives.
